Like other prominent medieval Rajput rulers – including the famous Prithviraj Chauhan – they were defeated by the invaders from Afghanistan at the end of the 12th century.

Varanasi, also commonly known as Banaras or Kashi is one of the holiest cities in India and is situated in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city is situated on the west bank of the river Ganga and is one of the oldest, continually inhabited city in the world.Over the years, the city of Varanasi has earned several sobriquets, 'the city of temples', 'the city of lights' and the 'city of learning'. No wonder then, Varanasi is home to several temples, however, most of these places of worship were destroyed by pillaging Muslim armies of Mahmud of Ghazni and Mohammad Ghori.

Home Jaisalmer is situated in the middle of the Thar desert in the state of Rajasthan near the Indo- Pakistani border.The Jaisalmar Fort, recently declared as World Heritage Site is one of the largest desert forts of the world and the second oldest fort in Rajasthan.Its yellow sandstone walls are a tawny lion color during the day and this becomes honey-gold at sunset.
